In 1930, Laura Wolstein opened a modest ladieswear boutique on St. Hubert Ave in Montreal. Customers loved the friendly and familiar service, which continues to drive the company to this day. In 1932, following a robbery, the store moved to Verdun Avenue. Kalman Fisher, Laura’s grandson, was among the family members who worked in the Verdun store. In 1973, at a time when women continued to rapidly join the workforce, Kalman took control of the business, opening the second store in the Montreal suburb of St. Laurent and beginning an expansion that would eventually introduce the brand to women right across Canada.   Read More
