Our first Bakery/Café opened on West 4th Avenue in Kitsilano, Vancouver in 1993. Since then we have been making true artisan bread using traditional methods developed over thousands of years. We mix quality ingredients—many of them organic—with natural starters in a long, slow artisan process. This rising method transforms the flours and grains into flavourful and nutritious bread with a well-developed structure, a beautiful crust, and a moist interior crumb. In this hands-o n process, we carefully watch and feel the doughs as they change in the varying ambient conditions of each day. After rising, the bread is baked in stone-hearth ovens at each of our four bakeries. We bake rustic pastries, serve fresh sandwiches, homemade soups and salads.
